Magnesium-Rich Foods

ngredients like pumpkin seeds, quinoa, and leafy greens that contain magnesium can help reduce bladder spasms and support muscle relaxation, making them ideal for managing overactive bladder symptoms.

Low-Acidity Diet

Choosing foods low in acidity, such as pumpkin, butternut squash, and carrots, helps minimise bladder irritation and supports urinary health for those with overactive bladder.

Overactive Bladder

Overactive bladder (OAB) is a condition characterised by a sudden and frequent urge to urinate, often accompanied by involuntary bladder contractions, which can impact daily activities and quality of life. Managing it involves dietary and lifestyle adjustments to reduce symptoms and support bladder health.

Can Rosemary Help Bladder Health? The Science Explained

Most women don't notice bladder changes until they're already managing them. Sensitivity, urgency, the quiet change in habits that creep up on us. But despite how leaks and urgency are often spoken about, these aren’t signs of weakness. They’re signs of a biological system under strain.

The biology behind our bladder health is well understood. The bladder's inner lining, its muscle wall and the signals that coordinate are known to both change measurably over time. Jude's approach is to work with that biology directly and use the natural power of our diet and supplementation to support our urinary wellbeing,

Dr Zena Wehbe, Jude's Lead Scientist, explains:

"When we reformulate, we look for clear alignment with bladder biology. Rosemary demonstrated meaningful activity in pathways involved in bladder muscle relaxation, which made it scientifically relevant to the system we are supporting."

Muscle Regulation and Signalling Balance

Essentially, the function of our bladder is about coordination. As our bladder fills, the muscle wall needs to stay relaxed. When the right signals arrive, it contracts smoothly and at the right moment. When that coordination is off, comfort is too. Rosemary helps to keep the muscle relaxed to allow it to fill up to a greater capacity.

Research into rosemary's bioactive compounds has explored how they interact with the processes that control muscle contraction and relaxation, including the role of calcium, which acts as a trigger for muscle cells to contract or release. Preclinical studies suggest rosemary extracts may support these processes.

Dr Wehbe adds:

"Bladder control is about regulation, not just contraction. Rosemary is compelling because it interacts with pathways linked to signalling balance. That broader regulatory relevance is what made it a meaningful addition to a system-based formula."

Why Rosemary Was Selected for CoreCTRL™

Many botanicals offer general antioxidant benefits. Far fewer show meaningful relevance to the specific tissues and biological processes involved in bladder function.

Rosemary met three criteria during Jude's review process:

  1. Its active compounds are extensively documented in published research and have a safety profile.

  2. Its activity aligns with the biological systems involved in smooth muscle regulation.

  3. It can be reliably standardised, which, in botanical formulation, is non-negotiable.

Plant composition varies depending on how and where it's grown, harvested and extracted. Without rigorous quality control, the concentration of active compounds can shift from batch to batch, and an inconsistent dose is not one that can be relied upon. The rosemary extract in CoreCTRL™ is produced under tightly controlled conditions, tested for identity, purity and consistency, and formulated at a defined strength in every batch.

Supporting a System-Based Approach

CoreCTRL™ is designed to support the bladder as a whole, not target one mechanism in isolation.

Pumpkin seed extract provides concentrated L-Arginine and glycine to support smooth muscle function and connective tissue structure. Soy germ extract supplies isoflavones that help maintain tissue integrity and hormonal balance. Magnesium and vitamin B6 support normal nervous system function. Zinc contributes to normal protein synthesis and tissue maintenance.

Rosemary strengthens that foundation, supporting cellular resilience and the balance of signals the bladder depends on. It doesn't replace what came before, but simply supports our bladder health to feel more confident, and more you.
